INNOVATION SI HEALTH PLAN

Based on the very popular plan design Innovation II  (developed while we were working on the MEWA) and continuing member interest in a competitive Consumer Driven Health Plan (CDHP) option, EA is pleased to make available Innovation SI, an individual employer self-insured program. EA is continuing to work with Sheffield, Olson & McQueen (SOMI) as a preferred service provider in administering the plan. We are also maintaining most of the vendor relationships, including the large physician/provider network we established earlier.

Your Guide to Innovation SI:

Below is your guide to obtaining a quote in the Innovation SI  health plan option for employers. This plan is open to members of Employers Association who wish to implement a value-based health option for the organization and their employees.

All forms and requested information must be submitted electronically to Sheffield, Olson and McQueen, Inc. at innovationquotes@somi.com. Incomplete submissions will delay the quotation process.

Additional Information About Innovation SI
 
Since this is a self-insured option, employers will have flexibility in the plan design. Plans 1 and 2 are core samples of CDHP plans that can be modified to fit the needs of the employer and employee base.

To enroll in the Innovation Health Plan, an employer’s EA membership fees must be current and the employer must have 25 benefit eligible employees. If an employer is not yet an EA member, the employer must become a member by completing membership forms and paying the appropriate annual fee.

Obtaining an Innovation SI  Proposal is simple as 1-2-3
To secure quotes under the Innovation SI  health plan, employers must have at least 25 employees participating in the plan. EA members and their broker/consultants will be given first priority in quotation turnaround.

Employer-Member and/or the Broker/Consultant will need to:
Step 1

  1. Complete, follow the instructions, and gather together all the requested items on the Innovation II Quote Process Form.
  2. Send via e-mail the Form and requested items to: innovationquotes@somi.com. If the Employer-Member and Broker/Consultant are unable to electronically send all items, mail* them to:

*Please note: A request for proposal will not be considered if the
                        census is not in Electronic Excel or ASCII Format.

Step 2
Receiving the Innovation SI Plan Proposal
Generally, the Broker/Consultant and/or the Employer-Member should receive the proposal within 14 business days after all required items are received by INNOVATIONQUOTES@SOMI.

A copy of the proposal will be e-mailed from INNOVATIONQUOTES@SOMI to the Broker/Consultant and/or the Employer-Member and the EA. Due to the collaborative nature of the Innovation Health Plan, EA will be contacting the Employer-Member for feedback about the proposal.

When presenting the proposal to the Employer-Member, EA in partnership with SOMI can provide the Broker/Consultant assistance with Innovation Health Plan communication pieces and presentations, as well as aid in the Employer-Member meeting.

Step 3
The Enrollment Process
Enrollment is done with a packet of information for the employees, and we recommend conducting enrollment meetings. EA, along with with Sheffield, Olson & McQueen, can provide the Employer-Member and the Broker/Consultant assistance with employee communication pieces and presentations, as well as aid in the enrollment meetings.
