AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PROGRAM SERVICES

Employers Association's Employment Law Division can assist you with your affirmative action program. We can handle the entire project, from policy development to preparing affirmative action statistics to delivering affirmative action training to management personnel. Our experienced consultants provide the following AAP services:

Affirmative Action Program (AAP) Development:

  • Determining if your organization needs a federal, state, and/or local AAP for women, minorities, veterans, and/or individuals with disabilities.
  • Identifying the number of AAP’s required, according to related laws and regulations.
  • Writing the AAP or portions of it – including the statistical and narrative components, training you to prepare the plan, or reviewing plans that you have developed.
  • Assessing your software system's capability to store the needed data and to generate reports in the desired format.

Program Implementation Consultation and Assistance
:

  • Developing tracking systems for applicant, hire, promotion, termination, and compensation data.
  • Evaluating this data through adverse impact analyses and compensation analyses.
  • Identifying good faith efforts to meet AA goals, including the identification of alternative recruiting sources for women, minorities, veterans and individuals with disabilities.
  • Developing audit and reporting systems, including “progress towards goals” reports.
  • Completing government reports, as required, such as the State of Minnesota Annual Report or the federal EEO-1 and VETS-100 forms.
  • Implementing employment practices that promote AA/EEO compliance.
  • Reviewing or drafting policies.

Compliance Assistance:

  • Auditing your EEO/AA practices to ensure compliance.
  • Responding to an AAP audit by the OFCCP, MN State Department of Human Rights, or other agency

Training On-Site or at the Employers Association:
