The Environmentally Conscious Consumer

EA’s Safety & Environmental Department is proud to present a new on-site training session for your employees on how to be a more environmentally conscious consumer. This short presentation (50 minutes) will cover a variety of topics on how individuals can help conserve natural resources, cut energy costs, reduce waste, and do their part to move toward sustainability. In an era of fossil fuel depletion, worries of global climate change, and the rising cost of energy which affects the prices we pay for all our goods and services, consumers need to change the way they currently affect the planet.

This presentation will cover:

  • Overview of climate change
  • Advantages of being a green consumer
  • Home energy savings
  • Energy efficient appliances
  • Lighting efficiency
  • Paper vs plastic? – the right choice
  • The bottled water problem
  • Green cleaning products
  • Paper usage
  • Recycling used electronics
  • Water conservation

Businesses and consumers have a role to play in achieving sustainability and without employees on board, it will be difficult if not impossible to achieve. We feel that this presentation to employees will help enlighten them to be more environmentally conscious on the home front and this will translate to more efficient green practices in the work environment.
